This piece I found was in a rough state having been used as some sort of storage cupboard in I would guess an engineering shop. The unit was originally built for the NZ Air Force as a locker (the back has the original marking).
When I saw it I knew it had to be preserved and after some major restoration it came back to life and is now being used as a kitchen cabinet by a young family. You will notice I added Rimu skirting for better stability.
Overall the restoration was a success and will serve its new owners for years to come.
