The market need for good furniture is still vibrant, the desire for antiques has waned, therefore to save well built furniture is to combine new and old.
Some will hate this approach and some will embrace it I am happy for two reasons it has gone to a good home and it will function for another 10 plus years, well after the flat packs of this world have fallen apart and filled the rubbish tips.
